Jamaican Medical Mission 2014

Special thanks to Michelle Kelly, who created and shared this video.

The 2014 St. James Jamaican Medical Mission to Port Maria, Jamaica was a tremendous success.  Not only does the mission attend to the physical needs of the needy, but it allows the growth of emotional and spiritual needs to take root.

This year we had a team of 28 doctors, nurses and lay people who gave generously of their time, talent and treasure to make it possible to provide care and medication to approximately 1,371 needy people in Port Maria and the surrounding communities.

At no cost to those who came for help, they were screened for diabetes and high blood pressure; seen by the internist, received dental care and eye care; woman received GYN care, and children were seen by neonatal nurses.

Next year’s 25th Jamaican Medical Mission will be January 26th through February 2nd, 2015.

Taste of St. James 2013

“A Taste of St. James” on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 was a huge success – the best ever! We sold over 200 tickets and estimate that there were 170 people present. We even had 10 people from All Saints Episcopal Church Lakeland  show up in an RV to see how we did things! The food was wonderful. Best of all, we raised over $7,100 for the purchase of medications for use on the Medical Mission trip to Jamaica in early February. A big thank you to everyone who participated!  PS Bishop Brewer contributed $500 from the diocese’s discretionary fund.
