Saint James Grief Support
Our “Moving Forward” Grief Support Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 3:00 (closing time) at the Coffee Snob
at 1101 West N Blvd, Leesburg (next to Ollie’s shopping center). The Grief Support Group gives you the opportunity to share
with others who know firsthand what you are experiencing, helps you realize you are not alone and provides you with much needed
support in this journey. Our group meets in an informal and closed environment. We focus mainly on sharing, fellowship, and Hearts Healing Hearts.
Topics for discussion are determined by the needs and recommendations of those attending. We welcome and value everyone’s input, but sharing is optional.
Our gatherings are open to anyone, not just members of St. James Episcopal Church.
Invite - Welcome - Connect Update
Connecting Newcomers to St James
Connecting is the process of making Newcomers feel like they belong. At St James our process involves the following:
*Contacting them,
*Being available to them
*Helping them see where they fit in within St James
*And, Tracking their status
Bob has also put together a small group of people, called “Liaison” to St. James. These Liaisons make first contact, via the mail.
This small group could certainly welcome growth. If you are interested in helping with this ministry please contact Bob Tindall at (717) 575-3092. walruselecta@gmail.com
ST. JAMES SPIRITUAL FORMATION COURSE COMING IN MARCH!
Our parish Spiritual Foundation Committee is offering a new St. James Spiritual Formation Course this Lent.
The course is intended for anyone at any stage of their spiritual journey. The course will explore issues like getting to know God better,
listening and talking to God, how the Bible was transmitted over time, collaborating with God in stewardship and ministry,
following God together as a community, and sharing our faith with others. Our plan was to offer the course on
Tuesday evenings at 6:00pm from 3/11-4/8.
There will also be a workshop day on Saturday 4/5. The course will involve some lecture material, class discussions, small group conversations,
and interactive experiences. There appears to be sufficient interest to offer the same course on
Thursdays at 11:00am after the healing service.
Please contact Dorry Curran if you would like to participate. Please also let her know if you would be interested in a Thursday 11:00am class option.
Dorry will also be available to answer questions on register participants after Sunday services during February.

Ronald McDonald House Outreach
On February 4th, eleven women from ECW packed up for their second journey to Arnold Palmer House in Orlando.
The event was to serve dinner to 30-35 guests staying at the Arnold Palmer House because they had a critically
ill child in the hospital on campus. When dinner was almost cooked, many of the ECW chefs were invited to tour
the private rooms. It was impressive to see the cozy accommodations. We unloaded not only food from our cars but,
in addition, the generous gift of paper goods that you donated. We also delivered many pounds of Pop-Tops.
Thank you for your support and Keep Pulling Pop Tops .

St James is part of the Stephen Ministry WHAT IS STEPHEN MINISTRY?
Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called
Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community
experiencing life difficulties. WHO ARE STEPHEN MINISTERS?
Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing
a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation. WHAT DO STEPHEN MINISTERS DO?
After being matched with a person experiencing a life crisis, the Stephen Minister meets with that person on
a weekly basis to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support, as long as the need for care exists. HOW CAN I BECOME A STEPHEN MINISTER?
Stephen Ministry training is typically offered once a year.
The next session starts in the Fall, starting September 16, 2023.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Stephen Minister, please contact either:
